Drift of Shelter
I took a couple of pictures of snow drifts a week or so ago and was reminded of a story my friend Christie relayed to me when we were college roommates. She talked about being a kid and out playing in snowstorms and finding a snow drift and huddling down below the overhang and finding a certain solace there protected from the storm. When she told me this, I knew exactly what she was talking about. I had done the same thing too. Even as much as you were out in the storm having fun there was a feeling of shelter and protection from the elements that hit you on an almost caveman level. I look at drifts now and think of Christie and her insightfulness.
